《东南日报》是一份较有影响的国民党报纸。它历时15年(1934—1949),曾经迁地三省市(浙江省、福建省、上海市)。主办者为胡健中。当年新闻界有人将他与天津《大公报》的胡政之相提并论,称为“南北二胡”。胡名震欧,字健中(1902年—),原籍安徽和县,寄籍浙江杭州。毕业于复旦大学、工诗词、娴外语,尝以“蘅子”为笔名。他曾在嘉兴任中学教师,1928年应复旦大学同学许绍棣之邀,任《杭州民国日报》总编辑,从而进入报界。由于他能编能写,善经营,所以前人说他“笔杆子既硬,算盘也精”。 “Southeast Daily” is a more influential Kuomintang newspaper.
