Rock flowers are widely distributed in the dry areas of South Africa with very little precipitation. Because of this particular climatic feature, most of these species are dormant during the hot summer months to avoid moisture loss and to resist the sun’s exposure. Since the early 80s of last century, stone flower was introduced into our country one after another, and after a long period of cultivation and domestication, the summer dormancy habits of domestic stone flower slightly changed. In recent years, most enthusiasts, in particular, purchased adult or propagation materials directly from flower companies such as the United States and Europe and crossed with the offspring of previously-born kamaboko in our country so that current kamakura habits are different and it is difficult to grasp their summer dormancy characteristics , Which makes a lot of fans quite troubling.
