In order to accurately measure the temperature of an object placed in an electromagnetic field, the authors make a novel temperature sensor based on the thermochromatic effect of cholesteric liquid crystals coupled with optical fibers. This paper introduces the principle, structure and application characteristics of the sensor in more detail.
