The determination of the Barberton greenstone belt, age 3540 ± 30 Ma, is of great importance in the Archean tectonic setting due to its well-preserved area. From Steinman’s Trinity point of view, several workers noticed the ophiolitic properties of the lower strata of the Greenstone Belt and are now considered to be the Owerweakt group.
