费斯克是当代文化研究领域,尤其是大众文化研究领域举足轻重的人物。他创造性地把文化产品划分为金融经济和文化经济两个维度。在金融经济中流通的是财富,而在文化经济中流通的则是意义和快感。文化经济使在金融经济中作为商品的观众转变成了意义和快感的生产者。以此为基础,费斯克进一步探析了大众文化的微观政治潜能,他的这种大众文化研究具有巨大了理论贡献,也表现出了一定的局限性。
Fiske is a contemporary figure in culture, especially in the field of popular culture. He creatively divided cultural products into two dimensions: financial economy and cultural economy. Circulation in the financial economy is wealth, while circulation in the cultural economy is meaning and pleasure. The cultural economy has transformed the spectator, who is a commodity in the financial economy, into a producer of meaning and pleasure. Based on this, Fisker further explores the micro-political potential of popular culture. His research on this popular culture has made great theoretical contributions and also exhibited certain limitations.
