Objective To investigate the effect of remote nursing intervention on foot self-protection and blood glucose level in type 2 diabetic foot high-risk patients. Methods A total of 78 diabetic patients with high risk of diabetic foot admitted to our hospital from January to August 2014 were selected as research object and randomly divided into control group and intervention group. Control group to take regular discharge and follow-up, the intervention group to take mailing mission manuals combined with telephone guidance. The blood glucose level, diabetic foot risk factor score, foot self-care behavior and so on were compared between the two groups during hospitalization and two years later. Results In the control group and the intervention group, the risk factors for diabetes mellitus, knowledge of diabetes, compliance and foot care behavior were significantly different at discharge and two years after discharge. Conclusion Telemedicine intervention is good for the control of diabetes. The patients’ sense of self-care behavior of the foot is also obviously improved. However, there is no obvious effect on improving diabetes, and the dietary habits are not changed overnight. Further supervision is needed.
