Neolithic settlements Sakarovka (Krish culture) is located in the northwest of Moldova, which represents the first agricultural civilization in Europe. This culture was widely distributed in the early Neolithic period in the former Yugoslavia and now in Hungary, Romania and Moldova. The ~ (14) C isotope age of the Krish culture in these areas is 6650 +/- 50 years, or 5600 to 1480 BC. The existing pollen data show that at that time the forest-steppe vegetation grew better than the modern climate. The cereal (Triticum, Avena, Hordeum) pollen and accompanying weed pollen can attest to the agricultural activities of the time. At the end of Krish culture, the increase in grassy areas with reduced forest areas and drought-prone grasses was caused by climate aridification, timber development and the opening up of new arable land.
