The world economy continued to grow slowly in 2014, with marked differences in the pace of growth among all countries. The structural adjustment after the international financial crisis is still not over, dragging down global growth. Most developed economies continue to readjust their fiscal and monetary policies in an attempt to get out of their predicament. In different developed economies, the U.S. economy stabilized gradually while the EU economy continued to slump. Japan’s economy hovered near the edge of the recession. Most emerging economies still face internal and external challenges after experiencing a significant slowdown in the past three years.
