1995年6月,在食品抽检中,从城区两个农贸市场采得两份浸泡加工的螺丝肉样品分别检出含有害物质甲醛0.12 mg/kg、0.14 mg/kg.经调查,市场所售的螺丝肉来自同一加工批发点故又从其加工批发点采得三份样品,一份为未曾加工的干螺丝肉,未检出甲醛,一份为已加工好待售的螺丝肉,甲醛含量达0.27mg/kg,一份为现场加工的螺丝肉,甲醇含量为0.093mg/kg.检验方法参照GB5009.69-85.上述结果说明浸泡加工过程产生甲醛.
