Bangladesh is a young country. Its predecessor was East Pakistan. Before the division of India and Pakistan, it was customarily also called East Bengal and was a Muslim enclave. Many well-known Bangladeshi writers have crossed these three historical periods. Therefore, if we refer to modern Bangladeshi literature as Eastern Bengal Muslim literature, we may be able to better reflect the truth of history and explain the evolution and development of literature.
