目前,十分重视开发重质高粘油田。新的开发方法,首先是热采法发展的成就,引起了人们对于这个问题的兴趣,热法采油比传统的冷水驱油方法的效果要好得多。某一种开采重油方法的选择在很大程度上取决于重油的埋藏条件,即取决于产层的热力环境、深度、储集层类型。所以,为了解决与采油有关的一些技术问题,诸如工艺设备的选择、研制探测仪器等,必须分析其埋藏条件。
