Toni Morrison’s debut titled Blue Eyes realistically shows the predicament African Americans face under the influence of mainstream Caucasian culture through a tragic story about an ordinary black girl. From the perspective of Camus ’s philosophy of survival, this article interprets the “blue eyes” from both absurdity and resistance, aiming at revealing that in the face of absurdity, happiness can only be achieved by affirming life and reasonable resistance.
