信息产业部的一位官员近期于北京召开的3G研讨会上透露,中国自主产权的第三代移动通信(3G)技术试验将于今年10月拉开帷幕,并将持续一年之久。他还预测中国首个商用TD-SCDMA系统将于2002年第二季度投入运行。另外,关于TD-SCDMA产品第二个阶段的开发将主要涉及IP网络技术,预计也将于年底展开。中国三家国企电信公司—中国移动、中国电信和中国网通是参加本次3G试验的主角,另外一家尚未确定的参与者很有可能是中国联通。另外,德国西门子公司目前正在与中国电信科学技术
An official of the Ministry of Information Industry revealed at a 3G seminar held in Beijing recently that the test of China’s third-generation mobile telecommunications (3G) technology with independent intellectual property rights will start in October this year and will last one year. He also predicted that China’s first commercial TD-SCDMA system will be put into operation in the second quarter of 2002. In addition, the development of the second phase of TD-SCDMA products will mainly involve IP network technology and is expected to commence by the end of the year. China’s three state-owned telecommunications companies - China Mobile, China Telecom and China Netcom are the protagonists participating in this 3G trial.
