在毛主席革命路线指引下,我国煤炭工业的发展日新月异,随着采煤规模的扩大,矿区现有建筑物的保护及新建筑物地基的勘察、设计和建设问题被提出来了。为了解决矿区现有建筑物的保护及新建筑物地基的勘察、设计、建设以及铁路等方面的问题,需要研究了解地下采空区引起的地表移动和破坏的规律。我国自1954年开始开展地表和岩层移动的观测和研究工作以来,积累了不少在不同地质采矿条件下地表移动过程的资料,初步认识到地表移动和破坏的一些规律,为保护矿区建筑物及解决采空区上兴建问题提供了必要的依据。
