悲剧是社会主义戏剧的重要样式之一,在社会生活中起着重要的作用。社会主义时期的悲剧应当把什么人物作为作品的主人公呢?不言而喻,塑造无产阶级的英雄形象和社会主义新人是我们的重要任务,这是阶级关系的必然要求,也是历史赋予无产阶级文艺的使命。对此持否定态度是错误的。但是不能因此把创造悲剧英雄形象强调到绝对化的程度。过去有人认为悲剧的主人公只能写为伟大事业而斗争做出损失或牺牲的英雄人物,这种看法也未免失之片面。悲剧所反映的矛盾冲突,是“历史的必然要求和这个要求实际上不可能实现”之间的矛盾冲突,而代表“历史的必然要求”的社会力量则是各个历史时期先进阶级的代表人物,在今天则是无产阶级的英雄人物和社会主义的新人。这些人物为伟大事业而英
Tragedy is one of the important styles of socialist drama and plays an important role in social life. It goes without saying that it is our important task to mold the heroic image of the proletariat and the socialist new people. This is an inevitable requirement of class relations and also an essential requirement given by history for proletarian literature and art duty of. It is a mistake to hold a negative attitude toward this. However, we should not emphasize the degree of absoluteness in creating a tragic heroes. The view that in the past some thought the hero of the tragedy could only write heroic figures who had lost or sacrificed themselves for the great cause and struggles could not be ignored. The contradictions and conflicts reflected in the tragedy are the contradictions and conflicts between the “necessity of history and the requirement that it is virtually impossible to achieve.” The social forces that represent “the inevitable requirement of history” are the representatives of the advanced classes in historical periods. Today is the hero of the proletariat and the new socialist man. These people are Britain’s great cause
