大沙河水库是开平市最大的水库,于1958年11月动工兴建,1959年10月截流,1960年春建成即发挥效益。是一项以灌溉为主,结合防洪、发电、养鱼、造林、种果等综合利用的大(二)型水库工程。水库集雨面积为213km~2,总库容2.539亿m~3,正常蓄水1.568亿m~3,兴利库容1.383亿m~3,属多年调节水库。建成后已灌溉农田14万亩,灌溉保证率为90％;防洪2万余亩;坝后电站装机3×630kW,年发电量450多万kWh;最大捕鱼量1980年为19万kg。改革开放以来,为了充分发挥水库的综合效益,
Dashahe Reservoir is the largest reservoir in Kaiping City, started construction in November 1958, intercepting in October 1959 and completed in the spring of 1960 to bring benefits. It is a large type (Ⅱ) reservoir project that is mainly irrigated and integrated with flood control, power generation, fish farming, afforestation and fruit planting. Reservoir catchment area of 213km ~ 2, the total storage capacity of 253.9 million m ~ 3, normal water storage 158.6 million m ~ 3, storage capacity of 138.3 million m ~ 3, is a multi-year regulation of reservoirs.
