This paper discusses the stability of Slurry Trenches during short pit excavation. A typical example of the excavation of four mud pits is described in the article, including two examples of pits, and analyzed using soil arch theory. Some of the current methods for trough stability analysis are more conservative in predicting earth pressure. This article focuses on the stability of the slurry tank in the case of additional loads (such as those arising from adjacent bases and adjacent foundations). A design step was proposed for this loading condition. By considering the redistribution of stress due to additional loads in the soil adjacent to the excavation and the redistribution of stress in the building structure, excessive conservative phenomena in the design can be avoided. .
