结点运输的探索帮助虎跃度过了发展中最难熬的一段时间辽宁虎跃快速汽车客运股份有限公司(以下简称“虎跃”)的接驳运输基本上是靠自己在做,但运营原则两者相通。利用接驳点,对线路上的车辆及客流进行整合,提升上座率和收益率,其实这种方式在国内已经有相当的历史,那时候叫结点运输。1999年,虎跃快客开始尝试结点运输,但严格来说并不是有意为之,而是机缘巧合。2007年,京沈动车开通,虎跃的主干线路,如沈阳、锦州、盘锦、葫芦岛到北京的线路效益快速下滑,结点运输方式开始大规模推广。虎跃副总经理彭勇说:“结点运输的探索帮助虎跃度过了发展中最难熬的一段时间。”
