中学语文课本第三册贾谊的《论积贮疏》中有这样一句话:“失时不雨,民且狼顾,岁恶不入,请卖爵子,既闻耳矣,安有为天下阽危者若是而上不惊者?”课本注释“岁恶不入,请卖爵子”条为“年成坏,不能纳税,(朝廷)卖爵位(来增加收入),(百姓)卖子女(来度过日子)。卖爵,汉朝有公家出卖爵位以收取钱财的制度。”
