“Lover” is an autobiographical novel written by the French woman writer Margaret Duras. It is written in the background of southern Vietnam under French colonial rule and tells the story of the love between a French girl and a Chinese man. However, as a European whiter who grew up in a colony, Duras was deeply influenced by the exotic environment. However, everything in her eyes was inevitably racially aware. This article mainly analyzes the oriental image in the author’s eyes from the perspective of post-colonialism and analyzes the reasons for the discourse and the background of the discourse that formed this awareness.
