世纪之交的千禧年，共和国迎来了五十岁生日。作为重要献礼，国家经济贸易委员会隆重推出我国第一部反映新中国工业发展全貌的特大型丛书———《中国工业五十年》。《中国工业五十年》由国家经贸委主任盛华仁任编委会主任。全书为１６ 开精装本，分１０ 大部，２０ 卷，共４０００ 余万字。每部包括概要综述、法律法规、方针政策、领导文稿、计划规划、重要会议、主要工作、统计信息、调查研究、大事辑要１０ 个部分，全面再现了中国工业五十年走过的风雨历程。从本期起，本刊将对《中国工业五十年》部分内容作摘要刊出
In the millennium at the turn of the century, the Republic celebrated its 50th birthday.
