Improvements in fuel flow have a positive effect on the low-temperature performance of automotive diesel engines. Field trials at Bemidji, Minnesota, USA, show that the flow of fuel is even better than kerosene-diluted fuel at lower cloud points in terms of operating performance at low temperatures for automotive diesel engines. Also found that the structural design of the fuel system can affect the performance of low temperature operation. Two commercial motor vehicles in the northern United States using the flow of improved fuel for more satisfactory winter operation. Experiments show that the laboratory test and Bemidji fuel field test performance is consistent.
