Foreword: Electrothermal technology is a new nondestructive testing method. Because in many cases the entire part can be tested in seconds, this test is fast. This method is not subject to moderate surface roughness (such as weld) impact. This feature allows the electro-thermal non-destructive testing method to be applied where X-rays, ultrasound, eddy currents or other methods do not work. When applied, a current pulse is passed through the area to be tested and the resulting temperature gradient is plotted using infrared recording or other thermal imaging methods such as temperature sensitive phosphor or liquid crystal.
