IPTV是指通过双向IP网络进行频道及互动业务传输的新业态电视服务。截至2011年第一季度,全球IPTV用户总数已达4820万①。我国从2005年就开始IPTV业务的商业化运营,最早是由上海东方传媒集团有限公司(SMG)旗下的新媒体公司百视通和中国电信、中国联通共同合作开展。经过短短6年的发展,我国的IPTV用户规模达到983万户②,仅次于法国,在全球IPTV用户市场比例为20%左右。
IPTV refers to the new format of TV service for channel and interactive service transmission through two-way IP network. As of the first quarter of 2011, the total number of IPTV users worldwide reached 48.2 million ①. Since 2005, China started its commercial operation of IPTV service. It was initiated by BesTV, a new media company under Shanghai Oriental Media Group Co., Ltd. (SMG), and China Telecom and China Unicom. After just six years of development, the number of IPTV subscribers in China reached 9.83 million, second only to France and around 20% of the global IPTV subscriber market.
