Objective: To investigate the diagnostic value of tumor markers CA199 and CA242 in pancreatic cancer. Methods: CanAg, CA199, CA242 and EIA kit were used to detect pancreatic cancer in 23 cases, 22 cases of acute pancreatitis and 20 cases of healthy persons. Results: Serum CA199 and CA242 in pancreatic cancer patients were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.01). Of the 23 patients with pancreatic cancer, 17 were CA19-9 positive (73.8%) and 15 CA242 positive (65.2%). No significant difference in sensitivity. In 22 cases of acute pancreatitis, 10 cases were positive for CA199 (50.0%), while only 4 cases were positive for CA242 (16.2%). The difference was significant (P <0.01). Two of 20 healthy subjects showed no positive CA199 (10%) CA242. Conclusion: Serum CA199 and CA242 have high value in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The specificity of CA242 is better than that of CA199. The combined detection of CA192 and CA242 can improve the detection rate and reliability of diagnosis.
