上海歌剧院去年年底演出了金湘1994年的作品《楚霸王》,这一次的重排演出正好是上海国际艺术节的闭幕式演出。《楚霸王》经过这么多年后卷土重来,刚好在《西施》首演后数周,可以说中国原创歌剧事业的发展势头显得非常蓬勃。《楚霸王》与《西施》属于同一个剧情类别:两位君王争夺政权,除了利用战争以外,更各施其谋——两部歌剧同样有最终必然自尽的美丽妃嫔。与《西施》有别,《楚霸王》给观众的却是完全不一样的经验。
At the end of last year, the Shanghai Opera House performed Jin Xiang’s 1994 film “Chu Chow Wang”. This time the rearranged performance was just the closing ceremony of the Shanghai International Arts Festival. After so many years of reunification of Chu Bawang, just weeks after the debut of “Xishi”, it can be said that the momentum of the development of China’s original opera industry has been booming. “Chu King” and “Xishi” belong to the same drama category: the two kings competing for power, in addition to the use of war, but also make its own merits - the two operas also have the ultimate inevitable beautiful concubine.
