清初,后金天聪九年(1635年)八月,皇太极为迎接出征时,放炮三次,吹海螺,“打鼓吹箫,吹喇叭唢呐,对天叩头”(见《清太宗实录》)。这是清代出现最早的满族鼓吹乐。其后,清室入关,汉人又大量流入关外,汉、满文化融会贯通,汉族鼓吹得以广泛流传、更加兴旺,不仅在民间婚、丧普遍应用,而吉凶之礼和迎神赛会上,乃至商家开业、子弟登科、庆典佳宴,无不用鼓吹作乐。可见鼓乐早已成为民俗生活中不可缺少的重要内容了。综上所陈,辽宁鼓乐的渊源与发展同全国其它鼓乐有着密不可分的血缘关系,是我国民俗音乐的一大支流。辽宁鼓乐的形成当是清代中叶,辽南各县应是其重要发祥地。秦汉之际,便有辽东、辽西二郡的设置,
