Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 70 years ago, the Chinese people’s sense of fulfillment and happiness has been increasingly enhanced. Especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at the core has remained dedicated to a peoplecentered notion of development, and taken improving the people’s wellbeing and wellrounded development as the starting point and ultimate goal of all work.
Over the past 70 years, China, the world’s largest developing country, has gradually emerged from poverty. It is now the world’s second-largest economy, ranks among the top countries in terms of comprehensive national strength and has significantly improved its people’s living standards. The Chinese nation is experiencing a great process of transformation — it has stood up, grown rich and become strong.
As the world reviews the impressive accomplishments of China, one factor is especially worthy of deeper examination: Which aspects of development have most cemented public satisfaction and united the hearts of hundreds of millions of Chinese people?
