全国长途干线传输网是多种传输手段并存的现代化数字传输网。网络规模大、设备制式复杂，各网元／子网级网管系统采用厂家专用的网管接口和协议，为开发建设全国统一的干线传输网网管监控系统带来重重困难，给全网的运行维护管理带来诸多不便。本文结合全国长途干线传输网建设现状及发展进程，对网管体系的建设提出若干建议。
