This article is the first in a two-part article detailing the major achievements of phased array and MMIC foundations and airborne arrays in the new era. In the past 35 years, significant progress has been made in the area of electronically controlled phase-scan arrays, which means that two-dimensional scan arrays will make further progress in the future. This article discusses some of the most significant developments in the United States in this area of technology, as well as the significant advances made by countries around the world in the study of phase-array scanning activity in the past decade and the dramatic increase in the number of active, ground-based and airborne platforms used for ground and airborne platforms MMIC phased control array.
