With the tide of modernist poetry evolving from exploration to some kind of institutionalized standard, with the realities of Taiwan becoming increasingly prominent and with the growth of the “postwar generation”, Taiwan’s poetry emerged in the 1970s with a series of caring native realities The poets of “new generation” openly challenge the “cosmopolitan”, “transcendence” and “purity” of modern poetry. They strongly demand that poetry care about the reality, return to tradition, and deconstruct the canonization and institutionalization tendency of modern poetry. However, They are overly enthusiastic about “actual politics” and are overly persistent in transforming the language of imagination into action. They also obscure the vision and imagination of the poem.
