2002 has witnessed many recall cases of defective automobiles from transnational auto companies. Although some of the consumers in the mainland of China are all involved in these cases, they are excluded in the recall. That means Chinese consumers do not have all the legal rights although they can get maintenance or replacement at no cost. For example, if a defective vehicle malfunctioned and led to a passenger’s hurt or even death, the transnational auto companies will take no liabilities and the consumers will get no compensate.
