本文是《小说的音乐化:媒介间性理论和历史研究》一书的绪论部分。媒介间性是当代文学与文化批评中的关键词之一,作为媒介间性研究内容之一的小说音乐化现象长期以来未得到足够的重视。该书在布朗与薛尔的文学与音乐研究成果基础上,进一步梳理相关概念,提出一定程度上适用于一般的文学媒介间性(与音乐的)研究的理论和方法,并以英语文学作为研究对象,进而考察小说音乐化现象的文化与美学功能。作者在绪论中阐明了将小说的音乐化现象作为音乐—文学媒介间性特殊例子的立场,以及研究对象、范围、意义和目的。
This article is an introduction to “The Musicization of Fiction: Intermediary Theory and Historical Studies.” Inter mediation is one of the key words in contemporary literature and cultural criticism. As one of the inter-media studies, the phenomenon of musicization has long been overlooked. Based on the literary and musical works of Brown and Schaller, the book further sorts out related concepts and puts forward some theories and methods that are applicable to the general study of intermedia and music in literary media. Taking English literature as a case study Object, and then examine the cultural and aesthetic functions of the musical phenomenon of novels. In the introduction, the author expounds the position of the musicization of novels as a special case of music - literary media, as well as the object, scope, significance and purpose of the study.
