In the current cultural studies and cultural discussions, people seem to particularly enjoy using generic terms such as “oriental culture” and “western culture” rather than focusing on differences between specific cultures. In fact, Indian and Chinese cultures that belong to the “East” are by no means homogeneous, and the difference between Chinese and Japanese cultures is by no means small enough to be “neglected.”
