当文学在九十年代日渐滑入边缘、大有被其他媒介文化侵吞淹没的时候 ,长篇小说以其独特的艺术魅力赢得了文学的核心地位。它一次次唤醒了大众的期待视野 ,形成了颇有规模的市场效应 ,同时也为批评者敞开了极有诱惑力的探寻空间。鉴于此 ,本文拟从五个角度探寻长篇小说在九十年代的总体发展态势 ,并穿越小说的思想与艺术殿堂 ,聆听中国小说在与世界文学连接进程中所发出的繁复足音。导论追溯“长篇小说”的理论建设与创作实践意义。第一章侧重解决几个问题 :一是考察长篇小说在九十年代文学中的繁荣局面与核心地位 ;二是从时间与形态两个视角具体探索长篇小说所呈现的疯狂状态 ;三是分析形成这种局面的动因 :从社会转型、量化比较、创作主体思维转变与市场规律运作等不同角度挖掘。第二章探讨九十年代长篇小说思想内涵的多维向度 ,如原型塑造的多样性、文化折射的多元性、艺术精神追求的敞开性、历史意识的繁富性等 ,创作主体意识的变化直接影响并投射到文本的思想意蕴上 ,形成比较开放的小说意蕴。第三章关注“九十年代长篇小说”的艺术追求。繁富的动机、多元化结构、觉醒的文体意识与多样化的存在态势、多声部叙述的内在韵律与细腻的“纹理”修辞运用 ,以及小说语言的美学意蕴等共同营造了长篇小说艺?
