亨利·詹姆斯是美国继麦尔维尔和霍桑之后最杰出的作家之一,他开创了美国心理主义的写作先河。《黛西·米勒》是亨利·詹姆斯著作的一篇短篇小说,详细描述了美国姑娘在欧洲旅游期间遭遇的欧美文化冲突,该篇以其独特的描述视角和陈述方法,开启了众多文化研究学者对欧美文化的新认识。著作中塑造了较多的欧美女性形象,两国女性差异主要表现为女性观念、举止行为、文明态度和等级观念等方面,具有很强的指导性。本文主要浅析《黛西·米勒》中的欧美文化差异,希望可以给相关研究人员提供借鉴。
Henry James, one of the most prominent writers in the United States following Melville and Hawthorne, pioneered the American psychoanalysis. Daisy Miller, a short story by Henry James, describes in detail the European and American cultural clashes that American girls encountered during her travels in Europe. With its unique description of perspective and presentation, Daisy Miller opened numerous cultural studies Scholars’ New Understanding of European and American Cultures. The works have shaped more female images in Europe and the United States. The differences between the women in the two countries are mainly manifested in the concepts of femininity, demeanor, civilized attitude and hierarchy, which are highly instructive. This article mainly analyzes the cultural differences between Europe and the United States in Daisy Miller and hopes to provide reference for the researchers concerned.
