This article aims to reexamine relations between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)after recent moves by the U.S.to intervene in the relationship.First,it looks at how the global financial crisis has affected relations; it then analyzes the effect of U.S.interference; and,finally it wraps up with a prediction of the fate of the ASEAN way and its impact on the Asia-Pacific region.
