我镇是甘蔗新区,1984年植甘蔗面积2500余亩。坑背村有一户社员种1.2亩田甘蔗,冬季收掉工业蔗后,蔗叶撒在田里,曾被一小孩失火烧蔗叶,蔗蔸被烧黑,报镇政府派员处理,要求赔偿损失。经实地检查,近地表蔗蔸芽眼未严重伤害,第二年5月份检查时,发现被火烧蔗蔸反而比未烧的出苗率高而整齐。因此,发现用火烧蔗蔸是一项提高宿根蔸出苗率的措施。为了探索用火烧蔗蔸提高出苗率的实用效果,从1985年冬季开始,我们在开展小区对比试验的同时,采取了小面积推广相结合的办法,观察其效果,经过四年探索结果:证明效果是好
