This study compares the use of passive voice in Chinese essay writing by comparing English native speakers corpus and Chinese student corpus, and finds that although Chinese learners show less use of passive voice, With the improvement of English, its frequency of use gradually increased. Compared with native college students, Chinese students tend to use passive voice in a single form and tend to overestimate the general current time from the perspective of syntactic tense. In terms of the lexical difficulties of passive verbs, Chinese learners tend to be structurally solidified in high-frequency words, and are characterized by the first reduction and then the increase in low-frequency words.
