三山五园是清代北京西郊皇家园林的统称,在三山五园建成之前,这五个园林的旧址之中是否存在佛教文化元素,如果存在有那些特点,三山五园中的佛教文化元素是继承还是创新,目前对这些问题的研究成果并不丰富。以明代描写北京西山风土人情的重要著作为基础,结合清代《日下旧闻考》的记载,对清代三山五园建成前各个地方的佛教文化进行简要概况,并归纳其特点,最后分析对后世的影响。
