The clinical observation of 347 newborns found that postpartum neonates with vitamin K1 had a lower incidence and a lesser degree of hyperbilirubinemia. Vitamin K is thought to play a role in the occurrence, development and prognosis of neonatal yellow syndrome. It is suggested that the newborns breastfeeding routinely give vitamin K1 after birth. And to ensure that the early neonatal sucking time and frequency, promote breast milk secretion and accelerate neonatal bowel movements, reduce the incidence of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia.
