Objective: To analyze the expression of CD4 + CD25 + Treg and CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + Treg in peripheral blood of children with metabolic syndrome (MS). Methods: Twenty-five consecutive MS patients were selected for treatment or hospitalization. The control group was selected for physical examination at the same period and 24 healthy children were enrolled. Both of the two groups received CD4 + CD25 + Treg and CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + Treg) and helper T cells (CD + 3, CD + 4, CD + 8, CD4 + / CD8 +). Results: The levels of CD4 + CD25 + Treg and CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + Treg in MS children were significantly lower than those in control group (P <0.05). Meanwhile, the expression level of CD8 + in peripheral blood of the former was also significantly higher than that of the control group, while the ratio of CD4 + / CD8 + was significantly lower than that of the control group (all P <0.05). Conclusion: MS children have a clear expression of low level of peripheral blood regulatory T cells.
