H型钢即宽翼缘Ⅰ字钢,是国外近年来蓬勃发展起来的一种经济钢材,它广泛应用于建筑、桥梁以及机械设备中,是一种断面力学性能好的型材。生产和广泛使用H型钢,可以节省大量的钢材,明显地降低费用,提高经济效益。据有关资料介绍,各国的实践表明,H型钢用在建筑行业中可节约钢材30～40％,用于桥梁上可节约钢材15～20％,用在其它结构中可节约钢材10～25％。由此可见,在我国积极发展H型经济钢是推动我国建筑、桥梁等结构方面发展的必然趋势。
