In recent years, archeological excavations and research work in the middle reaches of the Huaihe River have been carried out in succession, revealing the important position of this region in the development and evolution of China’s prehistoric culture. As a material basis for the social development of prehistoric life, the industrial economy has provided important materials and research perspectives for the comprehensive understanding of the development of ancient society and culture, and has become an important part of the present archeological research. By sorting out and analyzing the remains of animals unearthed in Houjiazhai Site, Dingyuan County, Anhui Province, we can explore the exploitation and utilization of animal resources by the ancestors of this site. At the same time, combined with the existing research of Shuangdun and other sites, the economic activities of the prehistoric ancestors in the Huaihe River Basin can be discussed.
