至今,在武汉汉口有一条郝梦龄路,这是为了纪念在抗日战争中牺牲的第一位军长——郝梦龄。郝梦龄(1898～1937年),字锡九,河北藁城县人;青年时投身行伍,后入保定军官学校学习;北伐战争时任国民革命军第4军第2师师长,抗战爆发后任国民革命军第9军军长。1937年7月卢沟桥事变爆发。郝梦龄请缨北上抗日,并偷偷给家人留下遗言:“此次北上抗日,抱定牺牲。万一阵亡,你等要听母亲的调教,孝顺汝祖母老大人。至于你等上学,我个人是没有钱。将来国家战胜,你等可进遗族学校。”郝梦龄到达石家庄后,指挥第9军和晋绥军第19军、第35军、第61军坚守忻口以北龙王堂、南怀化、大白水、南峪线的主阵地。战前,他鼓励官兵说:“此次战争为民族存亡之战争,只有牺牲。如再退却,到
