Since 2001, a new curriculum reform has been carried out throughout China.The develpoment of society calls for constant advance in EFL teaching in our country. The focus of language instruction has been shifted from teaher-centeredness to learner-centeredness. Cooperative learning(CL) is regarded as one of the most popular learning strategies.The author believes that the application and implementation of this teaching strategy can play an active part in improving the social and psychological atmosphere in the classroom.
