宜宾煤矿安全监察办事处负责川南5市18个产煤县(区)共计733个煤矿的监察执法工作,占四川省煤矿总数的32.1％。在四川省15个乡镇煤矿事故多发县中,辖区内有7个县,占46.67％;50个乡镇煤矿安全事故多发乡(镇)中,区内有21个,占42％。 办事处于2000年8月8日成立,在国家局和四川局的领导下,以“三个代表”重要思想和党的“十六大”精神为指导,深入贯彻落实《安全生产法》、《煤矿安全监察条例》等有关安全生产法律法规,按照国家局抓好“三件大事”、建立“六个支撑体系”、处理好“五个关系”、推进“五个创新”和“关口前移、重心下移”的要求和部署,着力抓了以下工作:
