用无机粘合剂粘结各种零部件最初应用于机械制造业及航空工业等方面。优良的有机粘合剂最高耐温270℃,一般均在250℃以下;而无机粘合剂既耐高温,又有一定的强度,新型的无机粘合剂耐温高达3000℃。据资料介绍,日本、欧美和苏联广泛地应用无机粘合剂于工农业、国防和空间技术等各个领域,在许多方面实现“以粘代焊”、“以粘代铆”、“以粘代螺纹联接”的作用,从而作到优质高产低消耗,工艺操作简单可靠,收到多快好省的效果。
