The Musashi (Msi) family is an evolutionarily conserved RNA-binding protein that includes Musashi1 (Msi1) and Musashi2 (Msi2) and studies have shown that Msi family of RNA-binding proteins play an important role in the maintenance of neural stem / progenitor cells and tumor stem cell properties , Through the regulation of transcriptional stability of RNA involved in complex signaling pathway and thus affect the life activities of cells. Digestive system malignancy is the highest incidence of cancer in our country, with a high mortality rate. The latest study found that the Musashi family may be involved in the development of esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer and other digestive system tumors, and is closely related to the emergence of drug resistance. This review aims to outline the molecular structure, function, signaling pathways of the Musashi family and its recent advances in the study of gastrointestinal cancers.
