This article explores the important events of the Christianization of the Germans as a process of development of West European civilization in the Middle Ages from the perspectives of process, features and functions. The Christianization of the Germans is a gradual, long and staged process. Characteristically, the majority of Germanic Christianizations adopted a top-down model with a strong Germanic character. Both the Chinese and the martial arts were simultaneously implemented in the process of implementation. The Christianization of the Germans not only promoted the process of feudalization in Western Europe, accelerated the culture of the Germans but also guaranteed the inheritance of the classical civilization in Western Europe. The Christianization of Germans followed closely the subsequent development of Europe, mainly Western Europe, into a Christian and civilized area. In other words, the Christianization of Germanic people directly contributed to the birth of Christian civilization in Western Europe. In this sense, Christian culture and Germanic culture together constitute the religious origins of Western European civilization after Middle Ages.
